health and comfort of the whole Mursing Staff. I suggest a salary of £280 rising by annual increments of £20 to £320 as suitable for this post. If you approve the suggestion I should be glad if you would take the necessary steps to appoint a suitable candidate.

The name of Miss A. Dodds, Assistant Matron, Oakbank Hospital, Glasgow, who, I understand, is at present

performing the duties which she would be required to undertake here has been brought to my notice and I would

ask that she may be considered for this post, if she so desires.

The work in the Medical Department is increasing greatly and I consider the salary at present attached to the post of Matron to be too low. I recommend therefore that as from 1st January, 1924, the scale should be raised to £350 per annum rising to £450 by annual

increments of £20.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord Duke,

Your Grace's most obedient

humble servant,

7.5. Stutte

Governor, ác.
